The TAI CHI classes at Gold Summit Institute are designed to yield a strong body. Though you may only attend classes with us once or twice a week, you will definitely see a positive difference in your health and personal practice. BEGINNER classes accomodate people over 50, as well as the younger beginner over 12 years of age.

Contrary to popular belief, our Tai Chi Training is a Workout! Proper alignment and combination of high and lower stances create powerful legs. This type of strength is necessary in order for the upper body to remain calm and stable. With the proper mechanics and a relaxed mind in combination with the peaceful atmosphere, your Tai Chi practice will yield genuinely traditional and highly beneficial results.

Once you achieve the proper strength and energy cultivation, a student can move on to learn the actual
Martial Art ESSENCE
and FIGHTING APPLICATIONS of Tai Chi Chuan.
 
For the athlete...This class has tremendous benefit! Learning to use the power and energy of a low stance can supplement ANY other type of training or sport. Not only that, but the finely tuned Athlete must also learn fluidity, timing, and intense mental focus. This class will give the Athlete an awareness of their internal energy in order to Train these aspects.
To build a balance between the muscular strength and energy flow, a practitioner must become aware of their limitations, physically and mentally. Training in the Tai Chi class may do this in a way that only Training in a sport cannot.

If you would like to try a different type of workout, or you're a Tai Chi practitioner with prior experience, this class will add a positive challenge to your regime. Though the class is more intense than a regular Beginners class, it still does not move quickly. Students DO NOT learn a large amount of movements that they struggle to remember, but rather focus on standing training, single movements, and strength training at first. If a student trains regularly, after some time and dedication, they will also learn the full sets.
